Garland Bible College of Miller Road Baptist Church- Unofficial Alumni and Attendees

Having found no official Garland Bible College alumni site, I took the liberty to start this unofficial one. We would love to hear from you. Please send a short biography, telling of further education, and work and/or family.

We also welcome prayer requests.                                                Share on Facebook

If you know the whereabouts of former students, staff, or professors please contribute that also.

Some of us have seldom or never heard from anyone since graduating thus the scarcity of the information I can contribute.

Also, we would like to hear from you, even if you did not graduate, but attended.

God bless you,

Don Giddens, Greenville, Texas, Class of 1966.   dgem@juno.com

Thanks

Comments:left GBC when my baby died. Got a day job for hospital bills. GBC was gone when I was able to get back in school so went to El Centro in Dallas. Interrupted again by another baby dying, and that also cost me my wife. The Lord moved me to Houston where He provided me with a new wife and i got a series of day jobs lasting about 30 yrs. Now retired from day jobs. Was never able to get into full time ministry but now am able to serve in ways I never could before.

*Jim Van Hecke-

1968-1980  in church planting, pastoral training, Christian Education, Radio Evangelism
1968 Jan - June assisted Brother Don Granstaff in establishing GOOD NEWS BAPTIST CHURCH in French Quarter, St. Martin  Then,I continued to assist Brother Bob Faile who replaced him and the church which then began meeting under a tent on the Dutch.  During this time, I took responsibility to minister to the Haitien workers on the island, and then assisted Brother Roger Lormil in establishing what would become under later pastors, Faith Baptist Church (now of Cole Bay) primarily of Haitian membership.
At the invitation of Brother Gabriel St Rose, I was led of THE LORD to visit the English speaking island of Dominica in March of 1971, where as yet no Baptist churchs, other than Gerezim Baptist Church started by Brother St. Rose. Due to two of his children having sickle cell anemia, he was eager too move his family to the USA to be closer for good medical treatment.  However, I did not sense the LORD would have me do this and told him so after the morning service.  He was a little
disappointed, but the asked if I would go with him to one of the western coastal villages where he had  a  very small 10'x15' rented building that he used once a week as a preaching point.  For reasons known only to GOD, The HOLY SPIRIT, so strongly spoke to my heart that "This is the place; this the people" where I was to minister, that before I left the micro mini service that day, I told all  who could hear the portable small speakers that 'I will be returning to establish a church here in St. Joseph. 2 months later, I, my wife Sharon, and my 3 children (Stephen, Mary, and Elizabeth) were fullly moved into St. Joseph. There we established and built The First Baptist Church of St Joseph - now renamed Grace First Baptist church  wher Emmanuel Parillon is pastor.
We also established and sucessfully ran Grace Christian Academy (Grades 1-8)A. C. E..., We reached ot around the island and were successful in establishing a preaching mission outreach in Salisbury (First Baptist Church) where Pat Vidal is the present pastor. We reached out to Grand bay, the largest village in the south and helped to establish  The First Baptist work there with a preaching point in Dubique.  While in Grand Bay I was contacted by Gospel Broacasting Corporation (GBC) of Glenwood Baptist Church of Tulsa, Oklahoma to build a 10,000 watt christian Radio AM Station, which we sucessfully did and whose signal was covering the Southern Caribbbean islands.  (A few years after we left, GBC sold the station to The Reformed Church of America who continued most of the same programming with the staff I had trained, but now I understand they have now sold it to a Christian in Portsmouth, Dominica. GOD had amazingly blessed us!! :but shipwreck was around the corner.  In 1979 Hurricane David, with category 5 sustained winds battered Dominica for 16 hours.  ......to be continued

Paul's Soulwinning Manual by Don Giddens

My father’s WW II “U. S. Army Manual” was fascinating reading for me when I was a child. The tattered pages proved it had been read over and over, memorized, and thus assurededly put into practice on the fields of Germany. Is there a soulwinning manual still in existence that was used by missionary Paul?
Sure, it’s in I Thessalonians chapter

I Thessalonians chapter 2.

1.
For yourselves, brethren, know our entrance in unto you, that it was not in vain: (That is telling us it worked!) But even after that we had suffered before, and were shamefully entreated, as ye know, at Philippi, (That is telling us it was not easy!)
2.        So, the two things we know about this manual are- it works but it’s not easy.

See the manual
